Description
The adventure starts with a ~1.5-hour mountain trek, with unbeatable high-mountain views, perfect for photography and getting to know the native wildlife and flora. At the waterfall we admire a drop of the San Cristóbal stream, a 20-meter fall surrounded by maitén and tabaquillo trees.
Departure from Córdoba at 8:00, passing through Carlos Paz. After a ~1.5-hour drive along Provincial Route 34 of Altas Cumbres, we reach the Martín Fierro school in Pampa de Achala. From there, a 4×4 transfer takes us to the mountain refuge.
We then return to the refuge, where you can enjoy a snack and rest beside the crystal-clear Los Lampazos stream, before heading back to the meeting point in Córdoba.

When is the best time to visit the Los Lampazos Waterfall?
The waterfall runs all year, but it flows strongest in spring and after the summer rains. In autumn and winter the flow is calmer and the sky stays clearer for hiking and taking photos.
How do I get those silky-water photos and videos of the waterfall?
For the silky effect, use a slow shutter speed and rest your phone or camera on a rock so it stays still. Protect your gear from the water spray and mix a close-up of the falls with a wide shot of the sierras behind.
